Research Library
For those who seek a smarter way to research, the VU provides access to hundreds of insurance, business, agency management and technology articles written by volunteer faculty and other contributors. Technical insurance articles often include links to full sample ISO forms. You will also find white papers and articles on many issues affecting today's insurance marketplace.
"Ask an Expert" Service
Sometimes you need answers to questions that can't be found in the research library. To help with these "just in time" issues, the VU has assembled a faculty of 50 of our industry's leading experts from around the country. Big "I" members can submit questions to the "Ask an Expert" service and receive a prompt answer to questions on coverage and technical issues, business operations and technology.
Online Education
The VU offers a wide variety of online classes to enhance and expand insurance technical and business skills. When taking an online course through the VU, you can be confident you or your staff is learning the highest quality education available online. Free recorded webinars are also available for on-demand viewing.
Accessing the Virtual University
Both Big I Maryland members and non-members can access the VU, however non-agency members will have to purchase the subscription.
Big I Maryland Members
If you are an Agency Member of Big I Maryland, then access to the VU is FREE for all employees in your agency. This is an annual value of $299 for each person! You will also receive discounted member pricing for online courses offered through the VU. You will need to use your IIABA login and password to access the VU. If you don't know your IIABA login, email your name and agency name and address to logon@iiaba.net.
Associate Partners or Non-Members
If you are an Associate Partner of Big I Maryland or a non-member of the association, you will have to purchase an annual subscription to the Virtual University.
